The journey along the abysses of ecstasy to the forgotten spaces of mysteries is nearly at its end. The last destination of our odyssey will be the church St. Katharinen in Hamburg. On Pentecost Monday, May 12 th 2008 we will reach the supposedly secure harbour.

Our work can be understood as a story. In a film snapshots are strung together.... borders obliterate, fragments pose questions like: At what point does the ecstasy begin to turn into a mystical experience? When do mysteries turn into ecstasy?

The conclusion will be an extensive performance:

In the advent season the coming birth reminds us of mysteries. We all know the story of ecstatic bloodbath that king Herod incited during this time by killing all newborn male children. We find ecstasy and mysteries in many situations of life....

From November 5 th 2007 to January 10 th 2008 the works of the exhibition series "rausch+mysterien" will be exposed at Kir (Bahnerstr. 16, Hamburg)

Do you know the ECSTASY.....or the MYSTERIES in life, ( ) and as an artist...and the result?

From September 7 th to September 16 th 2007 the church St. Maximilian Kolbe in Wilhelmsburg will show 25 transparent hanging objects of the series "rausch+mysterien". The opening will take place on Friday, September 7 th at 8 p.m.

May 12 th 2008 at 12,30 opening, at 11 a.m. mass (thematically related)

On the edge of madness we set sail on May 13 th accompanied by a performance with animation, dance, organ, triangles and trombone improvisations.

But on awakening from our dream we notice that we are still in safe haven and did not put out to the high sea.

On June 13 th 2008 at 9 p.m.: performance and closing act

Registration under: http://hillac.de/zei_b291.htm

The exhibition series started on September 9 th 2007 at the church St. Maximilian Kolbe in Wilhelmsburg (during the Open Monument Day). At the same time the first 50 works were exposed at the xpon-art gallery in Wedel together with the catalogue.

The remaining works were presented in small work groups in
spaces related to the topics. Parts of the project were exposed at the discotheque Kir and at the church St. Pauli Kirche.

We wanted to load up our works at these spaces for the culminating show on Pentecost Monday, May 12 th 2008 at the church St. Katharinen.

The viewers set forth on a journey with 4 dancers and pass along the philosophers of the new age. The red wine has blurred their vision, the life in the streets has constrained their limbs, but they take the host as a symbol of the body of Christ.
Organ and trombone improvisations interweave with triangle sounds << and develop physical formulas for dissolving the mysteries of the dimensions. They also bring up the idea of curvature of space. << to drown the formula of everything in Balzacs coffee grounds  to find sense, to loose oneself, to follow the other or even to become the other ... Coloured images or masks, animations and film mantras will evoke these questions.

Idea, animation:
Arne Lösekann
Organ improvisation: L.E.O. Eckhardt
Trombone and triangle:
Arun dev Gauri
Dance:
Maria Ebert, Christiane Malia, Alena Nachtigall, Yvonne Maestre Schmidt
Costume design: Siona Grether

(June 13 th 2008 at 9 p.m., Fee: 5 Euro ca 40min)

AnnA Goldmund and ArNE Lösekann concentrated on this topic and the outcome will be presented from December 2nd to December 22nd 2007 each Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the church St. Pauli.(pnnersberg 16 in front of the Golden Pudel)

DIFFERENT EVERY TIME...come and see our interpretations of the order and disorder of the ecstasy and the mysteries. Opening on Monday, November 5th at 10 p.m.

During the Open Monument Day we would like to invite you to our presentation at the church St. Maximilian Kolbe. Together with Filke´s Architektur we will show a mobile of 26 feet span with 25 works. These are prints of collaged, colorized, scraped, etched and punctured slides treated with oil crayon, different inks, acrylic and photographs. This results in fragments of the world of ecstasy and the world of the spiritual that do not only merge COLOURS and SHAPES but that also create a new, complex overall impression. In between the stone floor and the gigantic spiral that seems to open a way to heaven, they establish a floating connection between heaven and earth.

From September 14 th to October 14 th 2007 you can see the first works of the exhibition series "rausch+mysterien" at the xpon-art gallery. We would like to invite you to the last opening on Friday, September 14th at 8 p.m. 75 selected works will be exposed at different spaces of ecstasy and mystery. These works will later be exposed at the church Hauptkirche St. Katharinen in Hamburg. We would like to invite you to accompany the works on their journey and to pursue and define their history. After this exhibition we will move to Hamburg for personal and organizational reasons. We will cooperate with the KuBaSta gallery and realise further exhibitions near the centre station.

...a mental journey with the subject "How could faith in something greater, not perceptible, in God or a kingdom of heaven arise?" Was it when the first humans tasted foul fruits by chance to get into states of intoxication? The exact cause will remain unclear, but it was certainly something unexplainable, something, new... or?

Assume that something unexplainable happened, beyond human, with the human, with human consciousness...

Did this shift in perception bring up questions like "What else is there that I do not know and that I am"?

Was this confusion the starting point for the search for the original source of life?
Or did the first being oscillate in divine ether … a state that we could find in Genesis … Adam and Eve, the masculine and feminine principle in undifferentiated state, in the paradise of the familiar...
Did we lose it because of our existence, our evolution? The euphoric weightlessness of existence ends harshly with the consciousness (with the being-on-one's-own-and-being-isolated-from-other-consciousness).

Is this the reason why we need ecstasy, because we lost a link, or because we believe that we lost it, because we want to feel OURSELVES - original or original enough? Do we want to raise a well-known song? A song about our BEING-IN-GOD, about a home that we perceive like a conscious or unconscious echo  … Or do we numb ourselves to forget, to compensate our self doubts, to bear inequities, to drown boredom or to find relief of a stressful daily routine.

We feel and we want to understand

Is ecstasy something that blurs consciousness or is it a deliverance from the normality of consciousness...

...a detailed genesis (project description) In the beginning there were discussions, ideas, metaphoric discourses that generated the need for action, a concept.... ecstasy and mysteries:::::::::::::::::::::::::.............................. The question was: Do we want to describe a room where both (fragments, layers, subjects) merge and turn into something completely new? Do we want to show the AMBIVALENCE of both? Do we want them to exist next to each other, merging, attracting and rejecting, annihilating and depending on each other? Now flooded with light, now a dark valley; all these conditions: evanescence, creation, sense, the power of darkness, the even stronger power of faith. Human consciousness struggles through polarity... This way the experiences of whole generations and cosmos freeze in a split second yet still remain emotions of the individual turned to images.

... Our goal: To lead the viewer into an area where he recognizes himself as someone who is not always sure about what is good and evil, for himself and his development. We do not want to give definitive answers, but we want to be thought-provoking.

This should be understood as a story: Snapshots are strung together like in a film.... borders get blurred.... At what point does ecstasy start to be a mystical experience, do mysteries start to be ecstasies?

What is veracity and what is madness? ... The realization: Together we created a series of 25 images that explain aspects of ecstasy and mystery. These aspects that approximate thematically, stylistically and rhythmically constitute an overlay of our two image layers.

Layer 1: Arne Lösekann created collages, colorized, scratched and punctuated slides. The result is a series of works that show ecstasy and deal with mysteries. These works were realized as c-prints that were the basis for Anna G's work.
Layer 2: Anna Goldmund approached the subject of ecstasy by working with the concept of mysteries. She used wax oil crayons, different inks, acrylic paint, and photographs. She painted, drew, scratched and made collages. This results in fragments of the world of ecstasy and fragments of the world of the spiritual that do not only find a common ground in colors and shapes, but also create a new more complex impression. While working on the first series we recognized that we had to create three series in order to meet the requirements of this complex subject and its different perspectives. This way we created three similar but individual series that differ and complement each other in their presentation.

1. Series: light boxes on the wall and wall paintings (12 light boxes 50x50 cm, 12 wall paintings 50x50 cm and a light box 120x60cm as a center piece)

2. Series: hanging "Mobiles" (three * 25 works 15x15cm)

3. Series: works on keel blocks (25 works 15x15cm different heights)
